I am planning to use an LT8641 in a device powered over Ethernet (POE PD).
One regulator will provide 3.3VDC for microcontroller, etc. This models fine in LTSpice XVII, based upon the macromodel test fixture.
A second regulator is intended to regulate the 46VDC POE power down to 10V .
I have changed the Feedback divider (R2=1M, R3=88.1k) and tried various combinations of inductor and output cap, but can't get output above about 7V.
Is there an inherent limitation of the LT8641 that prevents operation above 7V or so?
LT8641 has a current rating of 3.5A. With 10V output voltage and 1.65ohm load, the output current will be 6.06A which is out of LT8641’s capability. So the part hits current limit.
