Hello,
we use ADP5061ACBZ-5-R7.
If device is configured via I²C, charge is complete after configured termination voltage in adress 0x03 is reached. That's the expected behavior.
If device is unconfigured, the device works with Default Termination voltage ( 4,20V ).
After Charge complete ( 0x0B=4C ) the current stops for t(end)= 7,5min.
After this time, a current of ~260µA charges the battery unexpectedly. If I start our controller, current increases to 1,2mA.
I recognized this behavior on 3 pcbs.
Any idea ?
Best regards,
Drostec
Hi Zack,
thanks für your answer.
Meanwhile we found the reason for our behavior.
ADP5061 stops charging correctly. We have additional circuitry for over/under voltage detection.

Hi Drostec,
What do you change when configuring via I2C?
So charge completes, then does not charge for tEND, then starts charging slowly after tEND? Could this be coincidental and not related to tEND?
Might the battery voltage droop low enough to trigger a recharge?
3 pcbs of how many?
Regards,
Zack
This is supplied by VSystem. VSystem was configured with 4,5V. So a Schottky Diode and a resistor drive a current of 260µA.
Our solution is to reduce VSystem to 4,3V, the current decreases to 10µA.

Thanks, I appreciate you following up with the solution.
