How to connect ADT6401 to a LTC2953-1 for thermal cutout switch URGENT

Hello,

We are using the LTC2953-1 as a switch without a MCU to control a DCDC Converter, the board does get warm and as a safety factor we are to implement a thermal switch off.

I was thinking of using something from the Analog line like the  and connecting it to the KILL pin 3 of the LTC2953-1.

It says that the KILL pin has an internal timer of 512ms. Would this mean that connecting ADT6401 output (pin 6) to KILL (pin 3) with a pull-up resistor at 3.3V?

Also, we are going to tie for the future an MCU to the KILL pin too, would it work with both together? When one or the other is tripped the  LTC2953-1 is switched off?

I've put attached a simple image to give you an idea what I mean.

I hope to hear from you soon.

  • KILL pin is blanked for 512ms during SYSTEM TURN ON. This is done so that during system turn on, parts does not respond to low signal on the Kill pin and powers up successfully. Kill signal is an input to the comparator with threshold of 0.6V (Refer to block diagram on page#8 of the datasheet). You can directly connect this to a logic signal (Refer to page#20 of the datasheet) but seems like you need a pull up resistor for ADT6401. While selecting the pull up resistor, keep in mind the 100nA leakage current spec for LTC2953-1 KILL pin.
