LTC4124 reference design

Hi!

I came across this nifty new device from Analog while looking for wireless charging ICs. Is there an eval kit available for this chip? The datasheet doesn't mention Qi compliance for this charger. Is the chip compliant with Qi standard?

Most other manufacturers have a receiver ic + charger ic solution that is Qi compliant. The LTC4124 looks like an integrated device, but doesn't mention Qi. I am not fully aware of the technical details in wireless power, so may be someone can explain?

  • This device ticks lots of boxes for us. I just have one question!

    If placed on a common or garden Qi or PMA charger pad, will it charge? Or will it only work a with a complementary charger.

    We would like our consumers to be able to use technology that they may already own, rather than having to purchase propitiatory chargers from us (thus driving up the cost).

    If this device will work as requested are there any special design considerations, and, if it will not work with Qi etc. do you have a similar, low component count device that will?

    Hi,

    This device is not Qi compatible and can not be charged with a Qi transmitter (charger pad). We do not have any other products that are Q1 compatible at the moment. 

    The wireless transmitter (charger pad) design for LTC4124 is low-cost with low component count. You can refer to LTC4126 demo circuit design file for the reference design. LTC4124 demo will also be released soon.
