Using LTC4015 along with BMS ( Battery Management System)

I have a LiFePo4 battery rated at 25.6 V 30 Ah with max. charge current at 15 A and discharge at 35 A. It is pre-installed with BMS.

I would like to know if I can use LTC4015 with BMS installed in battery. Will there be any performance issues becasue

Datahseet says LTC4015 has  constant-voltage charging (CC-CV) technique, does it hinders with BMS's CC-CV method of Charging.

(My sole purpose is to design coulomb counter by connecting to battery externally)

Thank you.

  • Yes Zack, you're correct. Thank you again.

Hence I conclude that using :

    1.  RSENSE  (50mV / Imax) , I get RSENSE ≤  1.56 mOhms  ( IMAX = 32 A)

    2. RSENSE ≤ ( 0.340mAh• 2^16   50mΩ )/ QBAT ( For  IMAX = 32 A and Battery Capacity = 30 Ah )                      I get RSENSE  37.13 mOhms

Thus, using both equations 1 and 2, RSENSE for my application is 1.5 mOhms
