lt3650-8.2 battery removal indication

If TIMER based charge termination is used, what is the indication for battery removal ? that means charging status LED will turn off or it exhibits blinking pattern, if battery is removed for TIMER based charge termination.

Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Megha,

It depends on the state. Remember that /CHRG corresponds to C/10 regardless of which termination scheme is used.

If the battery is removed during charging with TIMER configuration, the charge cycle will continue after battery removal. While the charge cycle is active with no battery present (if there's no additional load on your battery node), the charge current will be consistently below C/10 and the LED will be off.

However, if the charger is trying to restart a charge cycle with no battery present (either because you powered on with no battery present or the battery was removed long enough for the charge cycle to end and try to restart), you will see it blinking.
