I have one question about LTC4418
Looking at P12 of the LTC4418 datasheet, we have the following description.
「Note that input supply voltages denoted by “SYS” are not hot-swappable, all other input supplies are hot-swappable.」
Is this SYS a system power supply and recognition?
If you are supplying power from an AC battery, USB, battery, you can read it if you can hot plug in and out.
I understand that it cannot guarantee a hotline under other input conditions?
When we say SYS next to a supply, we are assuming that this is a strong, low impedance dedicated supply for the system. For that reason, we do not have to worry about using TVS or snubber circuit on SYS supply. Also, since SYS is non hot swappable supply, we do not have to worry about inrush current control components on this supply. If your input supply does not match this criteria, you should use inrush control components, TVS/snubbers to protect your system.
thank you for the polite explanation.
It was easy to understand.
