I know there is a demo using the LTC6813-1 and passive balancing. I need active balancing for serial blocks of 18 cells and this is ideal for the LTC6813-1. I have been told months ago that the LT8584 active balancing IC can be used with the LTC6813-1, but, a demo circuit has never been made available. Thanks for replying.
I was able to reach out to the team who develops EVAL board. This is the reply:
"If the customer plans to use LT8584 with LTC6813, they have to use GPIO to control the LT8584 and level shifting…
The demo boards that used LT8584 and the LTC68-series were actually not released so we cannot share the demo board schematics. The schematic shown on the datasheet is already a good starting point for a workable…
Can you share to me the thread about a possible demo board using LT8584?
I cannot get AD BMS group to talk to me. I again contacted TS (12/11/2018) to PLEASE ask the BMS support group to call me so I can get some answers. Months ago their answer was use the 3300 instead of the 6813 and that is not an acceptable answer. Hopefully someone will call me soon.
"If the customer plans to use LT8584 with LTC6813, they have to use GPIO to control the LT8584 and level shifting circuits are needed. We have many different demo circuits with LT8584 and LTC6811 for many different application purposes but we don’t plan to get one done for LTC6813 yet unless the opportunity is large."
I do not understand the remarks in Italics. Why cannot someone from the BMS group call me? What does opportunity have to be large actually mean?
Especially this part "they have to use GPIO to control the LT8584 and level shifting circuits are needed"
