Hello, I have a question.
I'am designing battery charging circuit with LTC4162-L.
The block diagram is below,
There are three solar panels with blocking diode, 3 LTC4162-L circuit, battery management system and 2S4P li-poly battery pack.
I just tied the output voltage of LTC4162-L and connect it into the battery(BMS&Battery).
If three solar panels are under sunlight, Does all three LTC4162-L charge the battery pack?
And is the function(multi LTC4162-L and 1 battery pack) supported by the LTC4162-L?
What is the name of this feature? multi charger? parallel charger?....
Please, give me your answer or solution.
Yes, if all 3 LTC4162 units were powered, they would all charge at the same time. This could potentially charge the battery too quickly, so if you go with this approach you may need a microcontroller available to watch the max power and dial back the currents on the LTC4162 units as necessary.
There's no name for the feature - LTC4162 wasn't designed with this in mind.
If you won't be power limited by the charger in doing so, you could parallel the panels instead of the chargers.
