Looking for LED driver for 100W 70-75V 2A LED from 9-12V sourc

My LED specifications are:

Size: 34*34*1.0mm
Power: 100W
Current: 2A
Voltage: 70-75V
Peak Irradiance: 8W/cm2
Viewing Angle: 60 degree
Chips Arrays: 40 chips, 20 in Series 2 in Parallel

I have searched it out LT3755  and LT3956 but need some expert opinion.

  • Hello Burhan,

The LT3756-2 is the correct IC for you.

You need to run at low switching frequency to limit high voltage switching losses. I recommend as low as possible.

The current will get rather high, so a large catch diode for high current and high voltage is going to be needed. 10A, 100V.

I see that 75V 2A is 150W, but you need a 100W LED driver. There is a bit of a contradiction there.

Either way, you need the high voltage performance of the LT3756-2.

    Good luck,

    KSz
