LTC2943 Stops monitoring Battery Voltage a Current

Hi:

I am using a LTC2943 in a small project, it is being monitored with a PIC16F18326 MPU.  Everything seemed fine then suddenly it stopped monitoring the battery voltage and current.  Strangely the Coulomb counter seems to keep working.  I created three breakout-boards with LTC2943 chips, they exhibit the same problem.  Is there some programming issue I`ve missed?

Thanks, Tom

  • Hi Tom,

I wish someone replied to this.  I'm having similar problems.  I am getting an UVLO condition which could possibly be what is happening to you, but I'm not sure.  Without this condition my chips work fine and all the registers are reliable.  Check your load current and check bit 0 of the status register to make sure you aren't experiencing what I am.

  • Hi Fil,

I will email you - for future readers that find this I think I did have a short step load pulling my input voltage low triggering UVLO..  Use a scope to make sure there aren't any high frequency steps at the chip input.
