The ALRT1 pin is enabled and disabled using the Aen bit (D2 of Config register 01Dh). When Aen = 1, an alert will be triggered on the ALRT1 pin when any of the alert threshold register values are exceeded by current, voltage, or SOC. The default value of Aen is 0, so on a POR, the alert pin will be disabled and no alerts will be triggered on this pin.
If the customer would like an ALRT1 pin to be enabled on powerup, they can do so by setting Aen=1 in the nonvolatile restore register nConfig (1B0h).
