Q: Using the MAX77651 PMIC the customer might encounter an initial not working board. Why is this?
A: The PMIC has a default (OTP based) current limit of only 96mA at the charger input port. If the customer added a huge amount of capacitance (blocking caps for e.g. on a µC) of several hundred µF then this current-limit will certainly be reached, the system voltage will drop and the UVLO circuit will trigger leading the PMIC to an off-state. This problem can temporarily be altered by increasing the limit to up to 475mA but will be overwritten by a power cycle.
