There is an error in the MAX17261EVKIT datasheet, Doc ID 319-100204; Rev 0; 5/18
The GND pin should only be connected to PACK-/CSPL, agreeing with the datasheet. There was a board revision to fix this error that is not currently reflected in the EVKIT datasheet schematic or layout images.
