In addition to the battery capacity, the selection of current sensing resistor is also related to the maximum current of measurement. According to the current battery capacity, the sensing resistor is calculated to be 327.675/38=8.6mohm. Thus a 8mOhm resistor can be selected. When the 8mOhm resistor is selected as the current sensing resistor, the maximum measurable current is 51.2mV/8mohm=6.4A. If the maximum current in the application is greater than 6.4A, the current sensing resistor needs to be further reduced.
Therefore, the selection of current sensing resistor needs to simultaneously meet the maximum battery capacity and the maximum sensing current.
