Will I2C interface work on part MAX8971 without powering the I2CIN pin if we pull-up SCL and SDA to a voltage level externally?
I2CIN pin powers the internal communication block of the device and the I2C interface will not work in the absence of I2CIN input power. Therefore I2CIN supply is mandatory even if you are pulling up SCL and SDA lines to some other external supply.
