LTC4014 Standalone Operation Without a Microcontroller

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC4015

Dear Analog Devices Applications Engineering Team,

I am designing a battery charger based on the LTC4015 for a single-cell LiFePO₄ battery. My goal is to operate the LTC4015 in standalone mode, without using a microcontroller or any SMBus/I²C communication.

I would appreciate your guidance on the following questions:

  1. In standalone operation, what should be done with the following pins?
    • Pin 3 (DVCC)
    • Pin 4 (SCL)
    • Pin 5 (SDA)
    • Pin 6 (SMBALERT)
  2. Besides configuring these four pins, are there any other hardware modifications or configuration requirements needed to ensure reliable standalone operation of the LTC4015 with a single-cell LiFePO₄ battery?

If possible, I would also appreciate a reference schematic or example circuit demonstrating standalone operation of the LTC4015.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Kind regards,
Reza
