DC Supply Detection Circuit NPN Transistor Placement using LT8491

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LT8491

Hi

I have designed a battery charger board using LT8491.

This board will either charge battery from 3x parallel connected Solar Panels(18V each) or DC Supply(20V Power Delivery USB-C).

The DC Supply detection circuit shown below is sitting on another Digital board:

That means VINR Signal shown in picture above goes from this Digital Board to Battery charger board. The route length for VINR Signal will be around 15-20cm.

According to LT8491 Datasheet, VINR should be pulled low so that LT8491 enters DC Supply mode and Solar charging is disabled.

So, my question is: Would it be a problem that above mentioned NPN Transistor(Q6) MMBT3904 that pulls VINR low to Ground in DC Supply mode

is sitting on another(Digital) board rather than Q6 sits next to LT8491 as it does in LT8491 Evaluation Board?
