Capacitor selection(1206 or 0805)( for LTC1062

Product Number: LTC4162
Software Version: 1

We are designing an LTC4162-based PCB module design, which will be placed on multiple designs.

We are aiming to keep our BOM universal across multiple designs, so we can purchase larger quantities for passive components.  The existing design uses 10uF 1206(CL31A106KBHNNNE) capacitors C2 and C6, with certain signal traces going between the PADs. This is identical to the Analogue reference board.

We would like to change the capacitor with the CL21A106KOQNNNE, which is 0805, as we are using these across multiple PCBs.

Would this cause any issue, as now traces will not be going between the pads, but the capacitor would be much closer to the LTC4162 PAD?

Like the reference design, the capacitor is also connected to the GND pads 23-24. Is this purely due to them being 1206, or is this a requirement(noise etc)?
