Article MAX20094 Back Up Battery Transition Thresholds

Question:

For MAX20094, how do you calculate the threshold voltage of VBATT for transitioning to BUB mode from VBATT mode, and to VBATT mode from BUB mode?

Answer:

12V lead-acid battery falling is monitored by SUP2 input of MAX20094. When Vsup2 reaches 107% (typical) of set voltage then boost will start.

If the boost output is set for 6.2V then 107%=6.634V.  Min value = 104% * 6.2V = 6.448V and Max value = 110.5% * 6.2V = 6.851V

When boost is on and 12V recovers (rising) then 113% (typical)

6.2V set => 113%=7.006V.  Min value = 110% * 6.2V = 6.82V and Max value = 116% * 6.2V = 7.192V
