Original Question: How to simulate PD signal? by dmitriip
Hello!
I want to simulate a Photodiode signal amplification circuit with AD8602. How can I simulate fast pulse signal from PIN-photodiode?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Vasya,
Thanks for using Analog products.
In your case, we have an available Design tool for Photodiodes. Please see this link Photodiode Circuit Design Wizard. You just have to provide the Photodiode Bias and specifications. This is a powerful tool that provides you with the data you need in your photodiode design.
Go ahead and try this tool. It will guide you with your Photodiode application.

Hi Vasya,
The tool also shows you how to simulate a Photodiode. In order to do that you have to know the peak current, the capacitance and the equivalent shunt resistance of that photodiode, it is given in the photodiode datasheet. In your schematic, you showed V3 as the stimulus which is incorrect if you are going to simulate a PD. You have to replace the PD with current source in parallel with the PD capacitance and a very large shunt resistance.
Regards.
