Article What happens to MAX17504 if Vout is higher than Vin when used in powering battery backup circuit?

When Vout is higher than Vin, the high side MOSFET's body diode will turn on and the inductor current becomes negative. When the negative inductor current reaches the valley current limit threshold (-1.8A) the converter goes to shutdown. Thus preventing reverse power flow.
