Article What is the MAX5947B GATE pin voltage when driven low?

When there is a fault, the MAX5947B IC GATE pin 6 has a "strong pull-down" current to ground. This current is specified with GATE tied at 2V above ground (as shown in the datasheet Electrical Characteristics table, page 2, I_GATEDN specification row) and it is a substantial current (70mA typ), so GATE is forced to ground. There is also an internal pull-down resistance that forces GATE to 0V.
 
GATE will therefore stay at 0V with no error, unless there is a large external pull-up current.
