Q
I have some questions about ADM2486. Hope you can help me with them:
1) What is the ESD level of ADM2486? Does it pass HBM 1000V or higher than
1000V?
2) My customer tests with a new part to measure the resistor between Vcc2 and
Gnd2 pins and get 170KOhm, and the resistor between A and B pins is 75KOhm.
Then they power up the part to let it work for a certain time. After that, the
resistor between Vcc2 and Gnd2 pins changes to 20KOhm, and the resistor between
A and B pins changes to 60~40KOhm. Although, the part can still work as normal,
the customer just want to confirm whether this kind of test make sense and why
the resistor value changes.
A
The ADM2486 ESD level is 1500 V HBM.
In answer to the resistance questions:
- A and B are in high impedance state when the device is powered off, in order
not to interfere with the bus
- Measurements of resistance between Vcc2 and Gnd2 would be different depending
on Vcc2 powered on/off, but the measurements may not be meaningful.
