EmStat Pico firmware update to v1.2

Hello,

PStrace required to upgrade firmware of EmStat Pico. My EmStat pico firmewar is ver 1.1.

I tried to update firmeware due to PStrace5.8.

But, it failed the update.

If you have advice for the updating the firmware, please would you give me advice?

Or can I have another way to update the firmware of EmStat Pico?

Best regards,

Jun

    Hi Jun,

Please ensure you have selected the correct COM port. If the device is not listed click the refresh button on the left.

Beside that I had at the very first startup the same notification and was able to update the firmware like you did.

Important is you need to wait when this window appears, there is no interaction from the user needed.

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes. I tried to update it sometimes.

But, it couldn't update by PSTrace's automatically update program.

The device list was not "ESPico Dev". It was "FT232R..." or "COMx" on the list...

After restart the PSTarace, it still has firmware update warning.

    So, the update was failed.

When I use PSTrace 5.7(old version). EmStat Pico could work well.

Can I update the firmware by another software??

    Best regards,

    Jun

    Hi Jun,

Are you using the module only or are you using the development kit from PalmSens?

If you are using the module without the develolpment kit there is an additional guide on the EmStat Pico homepage available:

    Hi,

Thank you so much for the information.

I could update the latest firmware!

I used different maker FTDI module. So, I tried Manual install.

    Here is step.

1, Set bootloader mode(PSAPP-EmStat Pico module firmware upgrading P4)

Blink LED on the EmStat Pico

2, Copy firmware .bin file to firmware update software directory from PSTrace directory.

3, Open Windows PowerShell and use firmware update command.

Use "cd" command to move directory.

    (¥= \ , on JP keyboard)

Finally, I can connect EmStat pico to the latast PSTrace5.8.

    Thanks again for your support!

    Best regards,
