No, the LTC4162 (-L, -S or -F) does not support NiMH batteries.
There are a number of multichemistry battery chargers in the portfolio which can be configured to support NiMH batteries. Examples such as the LTC4010 and LTC4011 offer similar buck functionality and input voltage range to the LTC4162.
