Question
In AD1938's datasheet, it says:"The ports can also be programmed for
left-justified, right-justified, and TDM modes." But I can't find a register
which used to choose left-justified, right-justified and TDM modes.
Answer
The L-justified, R-justified, and I2S configurations are chosen in DACC0 [5:3]
and ADCC1 [4:2] as SDATA Delay. We do not specify these modes specifically
because it is possible to use different word widths for the audio data, and
therefore the appropriate SDATA delay will depend on the word width. A delay of
1 BCLK yields I2S format, a delay of 0 BCLK yields L-justified, and delays of 8
BCLK (24-bit audio word), 12 BCLK (20-bit audio word) or 16 BCLK (16-bit audio
word) will yield R-justified.
