Do any Maxim audio codes support both recording and playback of MP3 or WAV format?
The MAX98XXX series are not MP3 encoders/decoders. You will need to use an downstream/upstream device to perform this function. The audio codec can accept analog audio inputs or digital audio. For digital audio, we support I2S and TDM formats. The data can be encoded in PCM using those formats. Please see the datasheet for supported digital audio formats.
