The MAX28200 is suitable for facial recogintion applications which require infrared energy safety detection. Some OEMs plate an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) layer on top of diffractive optical elements (DOE). If DOE is broken then the impedance of ITO would increaase significantly. The MAX28200 can detect ITO impedance and shutoff the IR diode path immediately when abnormal ITO impedance is detected.
