Some customers demand to use MAX40056 at over 100V due to kick back voltage from motor. Adding external protection is recommended: add resistors and diode to remove overshoot.
The attached is the spike protection and test results. It’s targeted for 20-30ns spike protection. For longer duration pulses, higher power diodes may be needed.
