Question: MAX31790 is a 5V part, if my motor is 12V. Do i need level translator between motor and the driver?
Answer: 12V should only be supplied to the fan and not connect to the MAX31790 directly. The fan connections of PWM and TACH signals to/from the MAX31790 should be within ABS max and no level translator is needed.
