Can MAX98090 codec drive 2W steady state and 3W peak, into a 4.9ohm speaker at 1% THD? In addition, what speaker wire length would require EMI filtering.
Answer:
The 1% THD+N output power level is 2.6W steady state, so it can handle more than 3W peak.
For the length of lead/wire that requires some sort of filter to reduce EMI, the datasheet says anything beyond 12in. For cheap insurance, it would be good to have pads on the board that are no stuff during development for debugging purposes.
