MAX20328A registers would not be reset unless it is re-started as in a power cycle. Unintended reset could be due to high impedance on the VSS supply rail. We have seen customers insert series resistor on power rail and VCC is pulled down below the undervoltage lockout threshold (VUVLOF) during impedance detection due to voltage drop on series resister.
