ADISUSBZ-based software bug Impacts ADIS16300 ADIS1636x ADIS1640x evaluation
Answer
In the past, we have communicated via email or phone to provide support for
your inertial sensor requirements. I wanted to check in with you regarding
your evaluation and see how thing were progressing. Also, many of you are
using ADISUSBZ-based evaluation tools to test the following products:
ADIS16300AMLZ, ADIS16360BMLZ, ADIS16364BMLZ, ADIS16365BMLZ, ADIS16400BMLZ,
ADIS16405BMLZ. We have recently discovered two issues with the ADISUSBZ-based
evaluation software that may impact your measurements. Please note that if you
received a similar message from ADI and downloaded new software in the past few
days, and have already downloaded revision 11 of the ADIS16350 software or
revision 2 of the ADIS16405 software, you do not need to read any further.
The first issue causes the gyroscope scale factor to increase by a factor of
1.465 when the "Configuration" drop-down menu is used to select any of the
"Operation" options. The second issue causes a 1% scale factor error for the
accelerometer measurements for all parts that have a range of +/-18g
(ADIS16360, ADIS16365, ADIS16400 and ADIS16405). Both of these errors have
been fixed and the latest software is available for download at the following
links:

These two issues are confined to the evaluation software and do not impact
normal product operation. For those that have used the evaluation software to
test these parts, we suggest that you download the latest software and re-test
any parameters that didn't perform as expected. You can check existing
gyroscope data for this error by reviewing resolution step size. If the data
is in steps of 0.05 deg/sec, then your existing data is correct. If the data
is in steps of 0.07326 deg/sec, then divide each sample by 1.465 to correct
it. All accelerometer data (+/-18g parts only) taken up to this point will
need to be multiplied by a factor of 1.0091 for optimum accuracy.
