Question
We want to evaluate ADF7021 chip using EVAL-ADF70XXMBZ2. To control the board we use the latest version of ADF7021 Evaluation Software. We do nothave any issues running the cards and to get a test signal out by visualizing it via an SA.
· The problem comes when trying to read out the RSSI with the read back function. There we get a "runtime error '13', type mismatch" and thewhole program crashes.· Readouts like temp and silicon version work fine.· The error remains the same to read out RSSI in RX mode, in TX mode, activated ADC, deactivated ADC.
I saw another customer facing the similar issue in the EZ. Is there an issue with the software that we are configuring something wrong?https://ez.analog.com/message/171719#171719
Can you please advise further on this?
Answer
The issue you have reported appears to be a bug in the software. In the short term, while we pass the request on to the software department and await a bug fix, a suggested workaround is to:
- Program the part as normal with the ADF7021 Evaluation software- Click the “Disconnect USB” button- Open the ADF7021-N Evaluation Software- Click the “Connect USB” button on the ADF7021-N Evaluation Software- Click the “Readback” button and perform the RSSI readback as normal
If you need to change settings on the ADF7021- Click the “Disconnect USB” button on the ADF7021-N Evaluation Software- Click the “Connect USB” button on the ADF7021 Evaluation Software- Change parameters and program the part as normal
Again this bug has been noted and a request sent to the software department so this is a temporary workaround.
