Question
Please elaborate on the followings: on Table 3 (ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS) , in
page 5 of components' data sheet (Rev.0 ), Junction Temp (150 deg. C), Above
max storage limit (125 deg.C)
Answer
Maximum junction temperature refers to the absolute maximum temperature that
can be tolerated by the silicon die inside the package, it is specified in a
part's datasheet and is used when calculating the necessary case-to-ambient
thermal resistance for a given power dissipation. This in turn is used to
select an appropriate heatsink if necessary.
Maximum storage temperature is the absolute maximum temperature at which this
device should be stored. Storage temperatures above 125C risk causing permanent
damage to the device.
