Can the MAX2828 generate a simple tone out of the transmitter and receiver?

For TX, applying a DC (such as 2V) to any I or Q line will generate a high DC at TX RF output.  Also, injecting a CW tone (CW1) in digital domain will result in the output producing a CW tone at LO +CW1 and a side band at LO – CW1 with lower amplitude.  For RX, injecting a CW tone to RF port with frequency off from LO, such as 1MHz off, will produce a 1MHz tone at the I/Q output.
