Why does the Charger Status LED output of the MAX14648 toggle at a ~ 6.6Hz rate?
If too high a voltage (VBAT > 4.5V) is present on the BAT signal, an overvoltage condition may be detected. The MAX14648 signals this condition on the charger status LED output by "blinking" an attached light emitting diode at a roughly 6.6Hz rate. Normally, an attached Lithium Ion cell and the charging circuits will keep the BAT voltage below the overvoltage threshold. In systems where the lithium ion cell can be removed, it is possible a charging / travel adapter may place a high enough voltage on BAT and induce the rapid blinking.
