Are there any device limitations when the MAX16946 is in switch mode and does the current sense circuit still work as specified?
Switch mode allows the MAX16946 to provide a higher maximum current to the load at the expense of a noisier output voltage. The output voltage ripple may have to be measured to confirm it meets required specifications for your system.
