In the MAX16046, one of the GPIOs is configured as “Any Fault” output. Under what conditions is the “Any Fault” output asserted?
In the MAX16046, different voltage thresholds such as Undervoltage, Overvoltage, or Early Warning are set for each monitoring channel. If the monitoring channel’s input voltage violates any of the above mentioned thresholds, then a fault condition occurs. Any GPIO configured as “Any Fault” output is an “Active-Low” output. As soon as the monitoring channel’s voltage violates any of the respective thresholds, the “Any Fault” output becomes LOW irrespective of any other register setting in the chip. Whenever the monitoring channel’s voltage comes within the specified thresholds, the “Any Fault” output gets de-asserted and becomes High.
