There are three major circuit factors affecting the lowest frequency of laser driver operation:
  1. Driver input is DC-coupled or AC-coupled.
  2. Driver APC loop has a low-frequency cut-off.
  3. Driver to laser interface: AC-coupled and DC-coupled.
  Assuming the input data is PRBS. #1 depends on user’s circuit architecture; #2 and #3 are decided by laser driver.
