I'm currently trying to design a board that uses the ADIN2111 10BASE-T1L chip. In order to test my design I've made a minimum board for the ADIN2111 just to check everything is working as it should before moving forward with the more complete board. My demo board is based on the evaluation board, it's pretty much just an ADIN2111 with the magnetics and connectors and some switches to change the config.
In order to check the design, I've connected it to a raspberry PI with Analog Kuiper, and happily enough the ADIN2111 is detected and I can see in linux the additional ethernet ports!
The issue that I'm having though is that when I loop back the two ports I can see with ethtool that the cable is detected but it keeps oscillating up and down. It will keep oscillating link detected SQI 7/7 and then no link detected and then link detected again... Not sure if I'm just doing something wrong, or if it's highlighting some issue in the circuit. I've soldered two boards and they both behave exactly the same (only got 2 samples of ADIN2111 from Analog)
I've been trying to get a AD-T1LUSB2.0-EBZ from Analog but it looks like it's only through quote and so far I haven't heard back. I haven't tried with the EVAL Board just yet because they are a bit steep at the moment
If anyone has any experience and any pointers on what it could be that would be fantastic :)
