Request for Mechanical Design Guidance – Wearable Optical Sensor Integration

Category: Hardware
Product Number: Max86176

We are designing a wearable health monitor in a watch form factor, featuring an optical sensor (LED + PD) and ECG electrodes. To address light leakage and ensure good skin contact, we're exploring two design options:
 1. Flat-shaped cover glass – We are seeking guidance on the recommended height at which the sensor module (LED + PD) should be positioned below the cover glass to ensure proper skin contact.
 2. Curved or convex-shaped cover glass – We would appreciate support on the optimal curvature radius and appropriate positioning of the sensor beneath the cover glass for best performance.
Note : In both cases, maintaining proper ECG contact is essential.

If there are any additional suggestions or considerations, they would also be greatly appreciated.
Could you please provide any mechanical guidelines, application notes, or reference files? Any references or recommendations would be very helpful.
