AD4080 for medical imaging

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: AD4080

AD4080 has a 20 bits, but a bad INL and DNL. And it just has 93.6dB SNR. I want to use this for a medical imaging system. Is there some questions for it? it will have a better performace than other 16bits or 18 bits ADC?

  • Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry. The AD4080 has excellent INL performance at 4ppm for a 40MSPS ADC, this is certainly better than other 16-bit or 18-bit ADCs of this speed. AD4080 low noise achieves 93.6dBFS SNR, again for a 40MSPS ADC this is quite exceptional. Also as is evident on Figures 12,13 and 14 on the datasheet, enabling the on chip Sinc filters allow the SNR to be increased further. This is a high level of performance achievable for only 80mW of power consumption.

Is there a specific medical imaging application you are interested in, or is there further information on the AD4080 performance that you need support on?

        Thanks
