The datasheet, and evaluation board user guide, do not describe the *mechanical* interface of the WR-12 (UG-387/U flange) to the PCB.The user guide does not show any *thru* mounting holes on the PCB.
How do you bolt the waveguide flange to the PCB? Are threaded inserts used on the PCB? If so, what types/thickness of inserts are used?
I'm not sure if these parts are used in the evaluation board PCB (still waiting for the board to arrive...) but this looks like a good start in defining a method to attach the waveguide to the PCB.
Keystone 4-40 "zero height" SMT threaded insert. Part Number: 4939
Presumably, this insert would be installed on the bottom (i.e., waveguide-side) of the PCB. The top of the PCB would have the ADMV7410 directly solder attached through the reflow process.
Hopefully Analog Devices can confirm this or shed light on how their evaluation boards are fabricated.
Hi, the ADMV7410 is no longer supported in the RF and Microwave forum, so I have moved it to the other products forum. I will see if I can direct to an applicable engineer
