I am trying to develop a design using the ADF7021-V with an external VCO. I am looking to find the values for an active loop filter with gain to allow me to use a Crystek VCO, however in a previous post it is recomended to use the ADIsimPLL tool and use the ADF4156 as a suitable model. But using this IC I cannot reverse engineer the component values as fitted to the demo board using the parameters specified in the eval board notes. I wanted to do this to check the design of my own active loop filter which is not performing as well as the passive loop filter on the eval board.
Can anyone confirm the ADF4156 can be used to emulate a ADF7021-V and what parameters should be used to get the component values as specified on the eval board?
