Why is the VLED+ voltage on the MAX30102ACCEVKIT at 4.4V?
The allowable range of the voltage V_LED changes the LED current supply headroom. This allows the user to customize the design for a current range to best fit their application and to stay within a target power consumption range. The current through the IR and Red LEDs is controlled by the registers listed in Table 8 in page 20 of the MAX30102 datasheet.
