Trying the get any detail on the internal BPF in the ADPD1080 as the data sheet is silent on this. As this is the first block to process the return pulses, need to know its basic parameters (center freq, bandwidth, etc). Further, are any of these BPF parameters tunable via registers ?
The BPF corners are at 100kHz and 390kHz. The corners are not programmable. When using the BPF, you must use 2us or 3us pulses to avoid excessive attenuation.
Thanks for your timely feedback Kevin. Key info as our application will be seeing 200-300ns return pulses using external laser diodes triggered by the ADPD. Given we bypass the BPF, assume the 2-stage AFE integrator will still be able to provide our background bias removal. Cheers, Paul
The TIA only has up to ~1MHz BW in it's lowest TIA gain setting. Closer to 500kHz at the 200k gain setting. Not sure that's going to work for you with 200ns pulses.
That's new information and good to know. Agree - that TIA bandwidth is not workable for us.
