Dear community members,
im currently working on a project including a peltier module. Peltier specs are:
Imax: 7.5 A
Vmax (vdc): 17.5
AC Resistance (ohms): 1.66
On a lab bench powersupply i´ve reached my desired temperatures at 10 V and ~3.7 A
I was trying to use a DC-Motor driver to drive my TEC but in this application and max currents of up to 3.7 A my motor driver gets fairly hot (80° C) in ambient conditions. As it is planned to mount the circuit board in an enviroment with minimal to no airflow i searched for alternative components and found the LT8722 wich apparently is perfectly suitable for my application.
I was wondering if anybody can give me a estimate how hot the chip gets with a constant current of 4 A in ambient conditions and if anybody has operated the device in an enviroment with barely any airflow available.
Getting the evaluation board is planned but i have to wait for my supervisor to come back from holiday.
Thank you for the help in advance!
