The algorithms for the Activity Classifier, Step-Counter, and Energy Expenditure were only developed for the wrist-based applications. In the firmware version v32.9.22 of the MAXM86161, the output values of these features are still reported in the extended algorithm output during in-ear measurements, but they might be inaccurate and should not be used.
